Introduction to Commercial Tomato Crop Production

Chisholm Institute of TAFE are offering a training course to provide participants with a basic overview of the issues associated with growing a commercial Tomato crop. This course is designed to give new entrants a ‘crash course’ into the issues involved in growing a tomato crop and the factors that need to be considered to ensure success.

Chisholm_03_webThe course is being delivered at Chisholm Institute’s National Precision Growing Centre glasshouse training facility located at the Cranbourne Campus, Cranbourne, Victoria, on Tuesday 4 March 2014.

The course includes:

  • Plant physiology and growth
  • Growing systems and media use
  • Tomato variety types
  • Plant nutrition
  • Crop husbandry and climate management
  • Irrigation management
  • Crop harvesting techniques
  • Pest and disease control
  • Crop registration

Cost of training course is AU$550 per person + GST.
