Lower fruit and veg prices this festive season

There has never been a better time to stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables, says Produce Marketing Association (A-NZ) CEO, Michael Worthington.  According to a survey of retailers and wholesalers, vegetable prices are a massive 20% lower than they were this time last year — just in time for Christmas
festivities.

“With vegetable prices well down and fruit prices across the board at very reasonable levels, never has there been a better time for consumers to get the most out of their budgets by eating more fruit and vegetables”, he said.

“Bananas are back and the grape, mango, stone-fruit and salad seasons are in full swing over the summer months, so consumers around the country can really make the most of great quality produce at fantastic prices this festive season”.
