India’s largest exhibition of floriculture, nursery, floristry and greenhouse technology is set to open its door with the launch of the 6th International Flora Expo exhibition and conference to be held in New Delhi from 24-26 December 2010.
With over 300 million middle and higher income population, India is the world’s second largest consumer base and fastest growing retail destination. Flower consumption is growing at 35% per annum and numerous festivals, along with increasing modernisation and per capita income, make India a floral superpower of the future. A huge domestic market supports high quality export-oriented flower production by providing a unique competitive edge. India, China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan along with other countries of the region make South Asia the world’s largest market.
Flora Expo receives active support from various government and non-government organisations including the Ministry of Agriculture, NHM (National Horticulture Mission), and NHB (National Horticulture Board). Leading floriculture, nursery and horticulture associations in India are also involved.
