NSW Primary Industries will be conducting a growers’ forum in the ‘Hunter Room’ at Penrith Panthers, 123 Mulgoa Road, Penrith, on 5 December 2011 from midday for a 1 pm start to 5 pm. The forum aims to raise grower ideas and concerns.
Titled Future proofing fresh local production, the forum is an opportunity for NSW greenhouse growers to participate in developing a vision for their industry, identifying impediments to achieving this vision, and raising ideas as to areas where government and industry can work together.
Discussion points will include land use security, clustering greenhouses, energy, water, transport, labour, markets, R&D, education and training, environmental issues, waste management, developing approvals – planning and development, and co-industry development.
Growers who want to attend, but can’t get away from the farm, can still have something to say by logging on to the online survey (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?hl=en_US&formkey=dEgwcDJRaExjcUpCaWdIWlQ2WXpTTWc6MQ#gid=0), or use your mobile device to scan the QR code and contribute your ideas, and to receive information about forum outcomes.
