Organisers of the 12th biennial Protected Cropping Australia (PCA) Conference and Trade Exhibition have announced the speakers who will focus on ‘Leafy Greens’.
They are Paul Horne (IPM for Leafy Greens), Len Tesoriero (Biological Control of Pythium root rot in hydroponic coriander), Mike Nichols (Plant factories for production and nursery), Rene van der Meche (Propagation plugs for NFT systems), and Brian Ellis (NFT solution temperature management). Over coming weeks, the conference organisers plan to announce conference speaker line-ups for other commodity groups.
The PCA conference will be held at the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park from 28-31 July 2013. The conference will follow the normal format of a trade exhibition on the Sunday, presentations and workshops on Monday and Tuesday, followed by optional farm tours on Wednesday. The program will include presentations by international experts, broadened by growers sharing their practical experiences. There will also be forums for each of the industry segments, including flowers, fruit and vegetables, herbs, lettuce and Asian greens, plus aquaponics, so growers can discuss their mutual interests and concerns.
