Wildflower quality specifications now available

Thirty-two wildflower quality specifications produced as part of the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) project PRJ 000331 are now available. The specifications are published individually on the RIRDC website for downloading, and print copies are also on sale. The printed copies are on high quality, full gloss, thick paper, ensuring that flower and foliage colours are ‘true to life’ and suitable for growers to use in the packing shed or business outlet.

The companion post-harvest manual is also available, a substantial publication of 231-pages packed with essential technical information about recommended post-harvest handling of fresh wildflowers and illustrated with many colour photos. It includes various templates for growers to use plus detailed factsheets for another 16 products. Again, it is available on the RIRDC website for downloading with print copies also on sale.

Contact RIRDC directly to view these publications or to place your order for print copies of the specification(s) of interest to you and/or the post-harvest manual. Each specification costs $10 and the manual is $45.00. Go to: https://rirdc.infoservices.com.au/collections/wnp

RIRDC is also supporting the publication of a ‘getting started in wildflower growing guide’ and grower guides on growing flannel flowers, Christmas bush and waratahs by Bettina Gollnow and Ross Worrall, which are expected later this year.
